modern abstract art jeff fuelling artist painting st louis
Jeff Fuelling is a St. Louis artist and designer residing and working in south city. The popularity of his work has rapidly grown to an international reach since his first local showing in 2012. Formally educated in graphic design, Jeff earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Missouri State University. His abstract style is high-energy, loose and spontaneous. The influence of graphic design comes through in his use of typography and color markers that move you through the piece. The majority of his work is latex and acrylic on canvas and his signature work consists of bright, high-impact colors with vivid highlights. Soft, broad spaces can contrast with hard, thick edges in a single painting.

Originally from the Springfield, Missouri area, Jeff moved to St. Louis in 1988 to take a position with Price Waterhouse Coopers. He spent a decade with the financial services firm, A.G. Edwards as a senior graphic designer, then art director and the firm’s first brand manager. Subsequently, Jeff became the senior creative director at Fleishman-Hillard, then executive art director for Group 360 Worldwide. In 2003, he opened Fuelling Design.
